Our Story

Did you know that there have been professional flower farms in Western Puget Sound for over a decade? And that we have some amazing floral designers right here in our back yard?

Here at West Sound Floral Exchange, we connect local flower farmers to designers so that we can all share locally grown flowers with our community. Our mission is to make it convenient and easy to shop for local flowers first! No need to go to Seattle for “local” flowers, or trek to a wholesale warehouse that imports almost all of their product. We started this collective because want to enable our local flower farmers to keep farming by providing an opportunity for a wholesale marketplace that serves our local community. We hope the rising tide of local flowers will lift all our boats as we grow.

Our primary business model is “Farm to Florist”, meaning we pick up freshly harvested flowers from our local farms and deliver them right to our local florists. All our flowers will be conditioned as necessary for each bloom to be ready for design work. We also transport them with special handling to make sure they arrive in tip-top shape! By using a Farm to Florist model we aim to reduce the waste that our florist friends experience with other wholesale delivery methods because our flowers will be coming straight from the farm without multiple handling stops.

We will be working on some retail shopping opportunities for our community too! We hope to have regularly scheduled stops where our flower loving friends can come “Shop the Bus”. We hope to be your first stop when you shop for flowers. Thank you for being here!
